Steve Johns, President, opened the meeting and called for an approval of the July minutes with one amendment to include Terri's name in the Nominating Committee. Minutes were unanimously approved.

 

Police Report:

LeBlond Report, Theresa Miller

  • Fall hours started last week

 
School Report, Principal Wolf

  • 85% graduation rate, higher than ever
  • 92% students completed FAFSA and are in college
  • Riverview building is now accommodating the Spencer School
  • The building will continue to be a CPS building
  • This is an ongoing issue but will continue to provide updates as they are provided

 
GCWW, Kevin Osbourne and Kyle Buckley

  • Most construction will be complete around October 20th
  • Water main needed to be replaced (dated back to 1906)
  • Most of the new water main has been installed but it has not been connected
  • Goal is to have full project completed by Thanksgiving
  • As water is being pressure tested there is no threat to current water flowing to residents

Towne Properties, apartment

  • looking for community support of their plans to build apartment building
  • 76 apartments with 96 parking spots

Joe Zimmerman does not support
 
Treasurer Report - The July-August financials had a deposit of $1,250 which is a grant for tree planning at Schmidt Park and expenses for NSP, garden and Spicer Park of $2,967.26. The balance in our EEAC account is $14,268.69.

  • No report

 
Garden Committee

  • Strader Garden is now fenced in
  • Next spring want to have irrigation system in place - will be used from the grant

 
President Report, Steve Johns

  • Spicer Park - new fence and cleanup are underway
  • Steve is implementing a “Seeds of Change” grant from the City of Cincinnati’s Office of Environment and Sustainability to develop a tree planting plan for Schmidt Field, will have an arborist let us know what can go in and where
  • Steve is working with three HOAs on the west side of the neighborhood to develop traffic calming measures near Adams Crossing and Riverside Dr.
  • Submitting Community Budget Requests (CBR)
    • Schmidt Park Redo
    • ADA pedestrian improvement at Delta RR underpass - DOTE
    • Riverside Drive - benches
